Bradshaw was involved in the play of the game according to the Tampa Bay Times.
“With the pocket collapsing around him, Frantzen stepped up, took a hit and delivered a beautiful pass 45 yards into the hands of Scoop Bradshaw in the end zone, putting an exclamation mark on an excellent night.”
With the win Plant clinched its 11th straight district championship and a home playoff game in the first round.
The Orange’s first 2016 quarterback commit, Rex Culpepper, also plays for Plant, but went down with an ACL injury in the preseason.
While Bradshaw led his team to a playoff birth, Syracuse 2017 linebacker commit Isaiah McDuffie starred in his Bennett team’s (NY) playoff opener.
Bennett demolished Allegheny-Limestone (NY) 48-7 Friday. McDuffie ran for 166 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. He also added five tackles on defense. The win means Bennett hosts a second playoff game this Friday.
In another playoff matchup, Syracuse o-line commit Sam Heckel and the rest of his Waukesha West (WI) team steamrolled Bay View Conservatory of Lifelong Learning (WI) 79-0 Friday.
Heckel’s West team earned the number one seed for the playoffs in their region and showed why Friday. After the dominating victory the team hosts another playoff game this Friday.
Finally, in Louisiana, SU’s second 2016 quarterback commit Lindsey Scott threw an interception Friday, but still led his Zachary team to a 29-0 win over Live Oak (LA).
Scott marched his offense down the field for a 99-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter to put Zachary up 22-0. The drive finished with Scott finding a receiver for a 31-yard touchdown pass. The Orange quarterback commit also had a 63-yard touchdown pass in the game.
