Most Syracuse fans were still in Final Four mode Saturday, but that didn’t stop SU Football from returning to action. In Dino Babers’ first Spring Football Game as head coach of Syracuse, the new look Orange offense put on a show running a whopping 155 plays from scrimmage.
In addition to fans, some 2017 recruits made the visit to the Dome as well to get a taste of Orange football.
A trio of Cheshire Academy (CT) teammates all watched the scrimmage on the Hill. Defensive back Brandon Sebastian, quarterback CJ Lewis and running back Craig Holmes came up.
Sebastian holds an offer from SU and is rated as a two-star prospect according to Rivals. He tweeted that he was having a blast on his visit. Lewis is a three-star dual threat QB with an offer from UConn and Holmes is currently unrated on the major recruiting sites.
New Jersey linebacker Amani Justice saw the game in person as well. He tweeted out a picture with Zaire Franklin and also wrote, “Syracuse Spring game was great ! Seen a lot of great things out there.” Justice is unrated on most recruiting sites.
Finally, Alabama wide receiver Genori Parrish visited too. He tweeted a picture with Babers and wrote, “Great time in Syracuse today.” The wideout is a relative unknown. Only about 100 people have viewed his Hudl tape and he is also unranked on the main recruiting sites. Parrish’s Twitter cover photo shows him on a Louisville visit.
Right now SU’s 2017 recruiting class consists of two members, Buffalo, NY linebacker Isaiah McDuffie and Florida wide receiver Daewood Davis. Look for that number to increase in the coming months now that Spring Football has ended.
