Last recruiting cycle Syracuse landed four-star quarterback Tommy DeVito. Now that Dino Babers and company have successfully brought in one four-star player, they’re vying with some of the nation’s top programs for a few more.
This past weekend four-star linebacker Antwuan Johnson visited the Hill.

Johnson comes from Dayton, Ohio. He stands at 6’1 and weighs 232 pounds. The two main schools recruiting Johnson are Kentucky and Michigan, according to 247Sports. Ohio State is yet to offer the linebacker, but if the Buckeyes pulled the trigger, that could sway Johnson to stay home.
Linebacker is a huge area of need in Syracuse’s 2018 class. Zaire Franklin, Parris Bennet and Jonathan Thomas all graduate at the end of next season. Johnson would be an important piece for the future.
Johnson visiting was the major news from the weekend, but Syracuse also offered three other four-star 2018 recruits.
Dejmi Dumervil Jean
The SU coaching staff loves offensive linemen from St. Thomas Aquinas. Last week the Orange offered 2019 o-lineman Antonio Serrano. Now, they’ve offered Dumervil.

Of all the four-star recruits, Hopper ranks the highest. The four-star tight end and linebacker comes from Georgia and has been heavily recruited by the majority of the SEC. Alabama, Auburn and North Carolina are currently frontrunners for a Hopper commitment, according to 247Sports.
