It’s summer time which means were in the midst of camp season for college football recruits. This past week Syracuse was busy on the recruiting trail. The Orange hosted a camp for prospects on campus, sent out some offers and also found out more about a couple potential targets. Let’s go over it all on this recruiting recap.
Latarie Kinsler Jr. Tours West Virginia
At the beginning of the week, Kinsler Jr., a highly-rated defensive end hinted at some big news coming on his twitter page.

The Florida edge-rusher decommitted from Louisville earlier this spring. He’s a four-star on some sites and a high-priority target in the 2020 cycle. The good news: Kinsler Jr. already has an official visit set with SU on June 20th. The bad news: he was on another visit this past weekend.

The Camping World Bowl losers are now in the mix, along with Miami, LSU, Oregon, Penn State and lots of others. This would be a big-time commitment if Syracuse could reel in Kinsler Jr.
Offers, Offers and More Offers
Last year Syracuse was number two in the country in total number of offers for NCAA division one programs. It seems they are going with a similar approach so far in the 2020 class as well. This past week the Orange offered several recruits. Let’s go over some that stood out.

Skinny, super athletic wide-out/defensive back. Most likely will be a wide receiver. State champion in the long jump for Maryland in HS. Already visited Pittsburgh and has offer tweet from them pinned at the top of his twitter page.

Incredibly tall tackle with potential based on size alone. Even 6-8 on some sites. Late bloomer of sorts. Syracuse offered after attending satellite camp on June 4th. Based on the prestige of program, SU is his biggest offer.
OT Garth Barclay (York Suburban, York, PA)

Offered after attending Syracuse camp on June 8th. Another really tall OT, seems to be a theme that Syracuse is looking for. Played both ways in HS, being recruited as OT. Already visited campus twice. Orange appear to be front-runners according to 247sports Crystal Ball.
Jared Greenfield Passes For Oregon
Greenfield, a four-star DB, announced he plans to join the Ducks on Monday afternoon. This didn’t come as much of a shock considering Greenfield reportedly never visited the SU campus. However, the Orange were in the top five for the California product.
4-star DB Jared Greenfield picks Oregon over Syracuse, UNC and others.

Onward they go though. With tons of recruits coming in for camps over the next two weekends, this figures to be a busy time going forward. Commits likely will start picking up over the next two weeks. Follow the Orange Fizz 2020 Football Recruiting Guide for more on this cycle.
