Early Indications “Not Good” for Tommy DeVito Injury

Dennis Nett, Syracuse.com

Syracuse starting quarterback Tommy DeVito stayed down on the field, after taking an awkward hit in the 4th quarter against Duke. Head coach Dino Babers rarely gives anything away when discussing injuries after a game, but this time he didn’t sugarcoat it.

“Based off some of the things I’ve heard, right now it’s not good,” Babers said.

After spending time in the locker room, DeVito returned to the sideline in a boot and crutches.

The injuries are becoming demoralizing for SU. Andre Cisco, Tyrell Richards, Eric Coley and Jawhar Jordan were all inactive today. Babers indicated Cisco and Jordan’s problems could be long-term. Geoff Cantin-Arku, Mikel Jones and Ja’Had Carter were all seen down on the turf at certain points in the Duke game.

The Orange (1-3) face Liberty on Saturday.
