Freshman Sensation Pierre-Louis “Blessed” With Syracuse Offer, Powerhouses Also Chasing

Friday afternoon Tampa Catholic’s enormous Eddy Pierre-Louis announced he had received an offer from Syracuse. Competition will be intense for the 6’4″, 305 lb. standout. Florida, Florida State and Georgia have already offered him as well. Oh, and he’s Class of ’24. Yep, all this attention and he’s only entering his sophomore year.

Last month, he tweeted he was one of only three freshman offensive lineman heading to the ESPN Elite 300 camp. He’s a two-way lineman, also playing on the defensive interior. Tampa Catholic is a known powerhouse, and every school in the state is after Pierre-Louis. Alongside the Gators and Noles, Miami and UCF have also offered him.

His size is incredible for a player so young. Pierre-Louis is already 6″4″ and over three bills. Florida’s offer in March began an avalanche of schools following, most recently by the Orange. Elite football runs in the family. His older brother, Richard Gouraige is the starting LT at Florida.

‚ÄúI know he always looked up to me and loved the game. I could see his passion for it when he was in little league. He would always ask me questions and I‚Äôd teach him different techniques. So I‚Äôve had that awareness that he was going to take this seriously. He can play a little basketball too, but his main goal is football.‚Äù – Richard Gouraige, Gators LT

Pierre-Louis tweeted that he was “blessed” to get the offer from SU. Dino Babers and his predecessors have known for awhile that recruiting Florida is mandatory. There’s so much talent in the state you have to develop pipelines down there. With offers from some of the best schools in the country, it’ll be a difficult road for the Orange. The good news is, they have plenty of time to work on it.
