Trending Names in SU Football Recruiting

Syracuse is buzzing after a huge recruiting weekend. The Orange hosted several commits and top targets, and may have given several high profile recruits reason to choose SU as their destination for the next 4-5 years. Here are some names to keep an eye on over the next couple weeks.

Q’yaeir Price | 3-star DL | Wayne, NJ

Price is the highest rated player of the three names on this list. The rising senior is 6‚Äô4, 250 and holds offers from West Virginia, Boston College, Indiana, and Maryland amongst others. Price has a lot of upside as a d-lineman and has experience playing on the edge and inside.

The east coast prospect visited Syracuse this past weekend (official visit) and has plans to see West Virginia on the 25th. This recruitment looks to be between the Orange and the Mountaineers with SU having the slight edge. There is currently one crystal ball prediction logged on 247sports with a confidence level of 7/10 which translates to high confidence.

Quan Peterson | 3-star CB | Rock Hill, SC

Peterson looks to be a lock for Syracuse. The Palmetto State native officially visited ‚ÄòCuse this past weekend with Price and several others and loved his experience. Two crystal balls were logged on 247sports in Syracuse‚Äôs favor.

You’d be hard pressed to find a position SU has developed better than defensive back over the past few years. The Orange just sent three of them to the NFL (two drafted, one signed as an UDFA). Peterson could be next in line. He has good size at 6’1, 175. The corner has offers from Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Liberty.

The cornerback is scheduled to visit Marshall next weekend before announcing his commitment on July 4th. Make sure to turn on post notifications for @OrangeFizz on the blue bird in case you‚Äôll be too busy grilling and boating on the holiday.

Chad Schuster | 3-star OT | Franklin, WI

This prediction is fresh off of the press. National recruiting analyst Allen Trieu sent in a Syracuse crystal ball at 7:28 this morning. Trieu does most of his work in the midwest, especially in Michigan and Wisconsin so he‚Äôs very well connected.

Schuster is 6-6, 280 and just took his official visit to the 315. If you want to find an offensive lineman to anchor the front five in the trenches, the Badger state is the place to go. Schuster only holds offers from MAC programs and SU was the first and still is the only power five program to offer the 3-star recruit. Schuster hasn’t set a date yet for his commitment, but it appears that the Orange are in the lead after this past weekend.
