On this week’s Fizz Five, Ian Unsworth and John Eads dig deep into the world of Syracuse lacrosse, and try to figure out the backup center situation as Brandon Huntley-Hatfield takes his talents elsewhere. Here are the five topics from this edition:
1. Syracuse men’s lacrosse falls 21-15 to No. 5 Virginia
The guys recap a sad, sad loss to the Cavaliers where the Orange really had no chance from start to finish.
2. Gary Gait’s Talent Deficit, and How to Fix It
There’s a lot of holes in this SU team, and Ian and John look at players who can step up, and those who can’t…
3. Syracuse women’s lacrosse can’t eke out a win against BC
Ian and John point out the small things which caused Kayla Treanor’s unit to fall late, including the Eagles taking advantage of the free position, draw control turnovers and a lack of depth.
4. SU’s ACC Tourney matchup with Virginia
John provides some insight on the ‘Hoos’ strengths and weaknesses, as he was on the call for the Orange’s 17-11 win back in mid-March.
5. Transfer Target Brandon Huntley-Hatfield goes to Louisville
