All Hail The King! KingJoseph Edwards Picks SU

The wins just keep coming for Fran Brown and company. Georgia native KingJoseph Edwards has chosen Syracuse over Colorado and Florida State, building on a recurring theme from the past few days. Whoever thought this would happen just a few weeks ago? First it was Kyle McCord coming in from Ohio State, then it was Fadil Diggs picking SU over ALABAMA, and now Edwards has joined the mix. Orange fans may find it difficult to make their smiles any wider.

First of all, Edwards’ social media presence makes him likable right out of the chute.

Anytime there’s a positive take or feeling about his game on Twitter, he tends to quote tweet it and show some love. Not being shy to interact with fans or media is always a positive in our eyes.

He seems like a very positive guy that wants to build relationships with people- exactly the memo Brown gave at his press conference a few weeks ago.

It’s no secret Syracuse’s run defense has been a struggle in the last few years. Clearly Brown has no intention of that becoming a theme. He brought in Nick Williams from Colorado to be the new defensive line coach, convinced Diggs to come in after visiting Syracuse and, again, Alabama in the same weekend, and now Edwards is in tow. This is a completely revamped unit, and Edwards will play a big part in that over the next few years.

We stated earlier that this continues a recurring theme of highly-touted recruits picking Syracuse over these big-time schools. Even though early national signing day has now come and gone, who’s to say more won’t join? Could KJ Bolden flip from Florida State? Now that Edwards has joined a growing list of recruits to buy into Brown’s vision, the list could grow very easily.

He’s a likable guy, it fortifies a position that SU has struggled with depth-wise in the past, and it could help attract more recruits as well. This is a home run pickup by every definition. Long live KingJoseph Edwards.
