PLL Pro Day Presents Opportunity for Finn Thomson

The PLL Pro Day, a lifeline for 2026’s top undrafted players to shine in hopes of a roster spot, starts today in Baltimore. While most analysts have pointed towards goalies being the main group to watch after the position went fully unselected on April 14, an Orange alumni in Finn Thomson can prove his draft evaluation wrong with a strong showing.

PLL Draft expert Adam Lamberti recently listed Thomson as one of five players and one of two attackmen as a “Prospect to watch” throughout the combine.

“Thomson is another who raised his PLL stock significantly during Championship Weekend.” Lamberti said. “The Canadian has always been a slick and reliable inside finisher, but he put it on full display with a four-goal performance in the semifinals against Notre Dame.”

Despite SU’s 15-7 loss to Notre Dame, Thomson certainly put his name on the combine radar on Memorial Day Weekend. The senior tallied a game-high four goals in the loss and was the Orange’s only consistent offensive force in a contest where the Irish simply overwhelmed their other top weapons. Like other Canadian PLL players, his box lacrosse background provides strong body positioning and Thomson’s frame should warrant a signing.

It’s time for Thomson to write the wrong from draft day. Though he didn’t hear his name called alongside teammates Joey Spallina, Michael Leo and Luke Rhoa, the Pro Day gives him a fresh opportunity to compete coming off of a red-hot Semifinal performance.
