Unfortunately for Scott Shafer and defensive line coach Tim Daoust, more bad news could be on the way this evening on the recruiting front.
6’3”, 290-pound DT commit Steven Clark took an official visit to Florida over the weekend and will decide between the Gators and Orange at 6 P.M. via his personal Twitter account. Clark told The Fizz late Sunday night on his travel back to Alabama how the visit went down.
“It was overwhelming at times. They through everything at me. They put me on a show which was awesome. It was a good time overall.”
Up until last Tuesday, Clark was 100 percent committed to SU with zero doubts. Then Florida’s staff researched his tape and told him they loved it. Clark got the offer Tuesday and boom, he enjoyed the Sunshine State for the weekend.
Clark spoke with Daoust moments before The Fizz chatted with the diesel lineman. It’s clear their bond is still tight.
“He was concerned, obviously…He knows I’m going to do what’s best for me, and I’m going to do what’s right. Whatever school I let down, they will have enough time before Signing Day to pick somebody up…He’s a good coach, I love him.”
Tune into the entirety of the FizzCast and hear why Florida’s pitch for Clark to play offense as opposed to defense actually has more of an impact on his off the field aspirations.
Again, expect a tweet to be sent out around 6 P.M. tonight. Undoubtedly Clark’s most difficult move tomorrow is clicking the “tweet” button.
“I’ve got a lot of thinking to do…Whatever I pick will be the right decision, and I believe that.”
