June marks a big month for Syracuse basketball. Two of SU’s biggest recruiting targets will make their official visits to The Hill. On June 5th and 6th, 4-Star Kyle Filipowski (Class of ’22) will come to campus to tour the facilities and meet the staff in person. He’s recently made a massive jump in the Rivals rankings to a top-50 recruit for his class.
He’s also turning heads with his amazing athleticism and play-making abilities as a 6’10” big. Friday, Filipowski tweeted out a highlight reel of his latest exploits with the NY Rens (EYBL NY Renaissance). Imagine this type of play as the stretch-four or even the five, bringing a packed Carrier Dome to its feet. It’s no wonder the Orange jumped squarely into the fray and have made him a top target.
Better known as “Flip” to his teammates shows off his dunking ability (double-clutch reverse), outside shot, and handle. Here’s a 6’10” player going behind the back to shake a defender, and with terrific passing ability. It’s why Duke and Ohio State have nailed down official visits as well. They see the obvious game-changing ability of Filipowski.
On the weekend Filipowski is in Syracuse, Justin Taylor will be in Chapel Hill visiting the Tar Heels. He’s a 6’6″ wing player in the Class of ’22 as well, currently ranked in #56 by 247 Sports.
Taylor’s playing with Team Takeover, and showing off his chops this weekend. Here you see his speed getting to the basket, and his strength muscling to the basket for an And-1.
Here’s the fadeaway which is a go-to move for Taylor.
Then just the straight up catch and shoot. Bang!
Class of ’22 already has Kamari Lands for SU. If the Orange can lock down either of these two stars, it would give Lands the ultimate running mate and one of the best classes in the nation.
