Recruit Dajuan Coleman to Decide Tomorrow, Syracuse The Favorite?

Dajuan Coleman’s decision will come far¬†quicker than most of us had anticipated. The CNY stud¬†big man had told The¬†Fizz¬†he would make a decision by early November, but a late change in plans seems to have accelerated the process. Reports suggested DC 2.0 would visit Ohio State this past weekend, but Coleman switched to stopping by Syracuse for his official instead. Sources tell The Fizz Dajuan was present at practice on Saturday and hung with the team as they took in the team meal.

“Dajuan Coleman, one of the nation’s top high school basketball players, will announce his college decision at a press conference on Tuesday at 2:30p at Jamesville-DeWitt High School.”

The situation seems to set up well for Syracuse to land its prized homegrown recruit. Coleman has made it clear this was a three-team race. He took his trip to Lexington for Midnight Madness, then seemed to have his visit to Columbus set up. At the last minute he decided to stay in Syracuse and will hold his decision just two days later. At the very least it’s down to SU and Kentucky. But given the long-term relationships with the SU coaches dating back to 7th grade and an immediate announcement after spending time¬†on the Hill¬†seems to point in SU’s direction.

All along, Coleman and his coaches have played it close to the vest. Give credit to Team DC. They have not played the recruiting shell game that some high-profile stars often do. He’s stuck to¬†his timeframe, identified the finalists early in the¬†process and¬†took his official visits to the two¬†schools we assume¬†the decision will come down to.

The Fizz’s guess?¬†DC 2.0¬†chooses Orange tomorrow.
