As the 2019-20 college basketball season approaches, Syracuse dropped new uniforms this week.
Personally I think that every uniform should come with some drip that Elijah Hughes is showing off around his neck. After showing off almost all Orange road uniforms last season, this year’s road jerseys bring back more of the blue that SU fans are used to. The jerseys also include a gold tag on the back, above the player’s name. Nike placed gold tags on the uniforms of teams that have won national championships. In the ACC, that’s SU, Virginia, UNC, and Duke.
While the uni’s are fairly clean without much clutter, Syracuse fans were looking for something different. Specifically, a throwback to the script jerseys.
Over the last decade it seems like Nike has made its block lettering a major emphasis on SU jersey’s. As fans noted in the comments under Syracuse Basketball’s post, Nike would likely make a huge profit if it brought back the script. Fans have been waiting for over a decade to bring back those uniforms, and would flock to the SU bookstore – as well as online – to purchase script uniforms.
