Recruiting Expert Predicts Huntley-Hatfield to Tennessee

Undoubtedly, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield has been one of the most notable recruitments by Syracuse in years. He is a consensus top-10 recruit in the country, and also the best power forward for his class. Predictably, the competition has been steep. Syracuse jumped into the fray in December and had picked up some steam in recent weeks. But the crystal ball projections at 247 Sports has Tennessee and Ole Miss landing BHH.

Jerry Meyer tabbed the Vols this week as the ultimate destination of Huntley-Hatfield. Earlier in the month Tennessee had “elbowed its way” near the top of BHH’s preferred schools. Former Vols guard Bobby Maze is reportedly a mentor to BHH. Meyer also notes Syracuse and Kentucky are strong contenders. How does BHH project as a PF?

I compare him to New York Knicks star Julius Randle on the upper end. A more moderate comparison would be Naz Reed, who was a standout at LSU.

This is the weekend to make some noise in the tourney for SU. Recruits are constantly looking at winning programs and watching hours of college hoops action in March. Syracuse’s matchup tomorrow vs. San Diego State will be in primetime. Ole Miss didn’t make the Big Dance, while 5-seeded Tennessee will have its hands full with a pesky Oregon State team that won the Pac-12 tourney. Will the 5-12 upset nip the Vols? For SU fans, it couldn’t hurt.
