How Impressive was Syracuse's Spring Game?

I'm Tyler Akin, and the spring game has come and gone for Syracuse football, and boy, was it impressive

It gives Syracuse fans a lot to look forward to going into the summer and going into the fall

because the offense is just so legit, and keep in mind, the offense did not have

a Ronde Gadsden during this game. Arguably, Syracuse's most talented offensive player

wasn't even on the field, but the offense still looked really, really solid

You have to start with Kyle McCord, the Ohio State transfer. He threw her over 240 yards, about a 60% completion rate

He was completely legit, and he was passing accurately, he was passing deep, he had some zip on the ball

was dotting up the outside, the inside. He did a little bit of everything

and that was very encouraging. The wide receiver certainly gave him plenty of options

Zeed Haynes, the transfer from Georgia, perfect. Perfect outside receiver, made some contested catches

showed off the speed as well on a touchdown early in the game

He is a great outside threat, but on the inside, don't forget about Trevor Pena

I know some of you guys forgot about him, but he got open several times in the middle of the field

for about a 20-yard gain, picked up a few yards after the catch as well

He's got plenty of shifty speed. It'll be interesting to see how much he can be utilized

in the middle of the field, with a Ronde Gadsden taking up some room as well

But Pena hurt most of last year. Don't forget about him. He will be an important part of the offense next year

and so will the running back duo of LaQuint Allen and Yassin Willis

They combined for three touchdowns. Allen had two of them, and he looks like his normal, shifty self out there

looked very, very strong. Yassin Willis was more of the surprise. The true freshman actually isn't even really a freshman yet

committed and came a semester early to school, and he does not look like someone

who should still be a senior in high school. He is fast, he is big, he is burly, he is strong

He was hard to bring down. He's probably going to be the goal line back for this team

Might get 20, 30% of the snaps at running back this year

I know LaQuint Allen is a very, very talented player, all ACC last year, but Yassin Willis

you can't keep him off the field because of how big and strong he is

Six, one, two, 15 for a running back is scary. He's probably only going to get stronger

over the next few years at Syracuse. So you heard about the quarterback, the receivers

the running backs, tight ends. The starting tight end wasn't even out there for Syracuse

The offensive line looked pretty solid. Syracuse football's offense is pretty legit
