As conference realignment rumors continue to swirl, now a report suggests Utah could be looking at the ACC. Is there any truth to that?

and this is massive news and a big deal for the conference

which right now is in a really interesting spot. So let's just take a quick step back

and a broader look at college sports. The SEC and the Big Town are without a doubt

the top two conferences. There's no arguing that and it's pretty obvious

Outside of that, who's number three? It's either the Big 12 or the ACC

and if Utah joins the ACC, then I think that moves the Atlantic Coast

up to number three above the Big 12. In this most recent realignment

the Pac-12 teams that left for the Big 12 are better than the ones that left for the ACC

The Big 12 got Utah, got Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State compared to Stanford and Cal

Utah on the other hand has been a football powerhouse recently and if the ACC can poach the Utes from the Big 12

Utah has been an incredible football program recently. Utah has been ranked in each of the last 10 years

in the AP poll at some point. They've also been in the top 10 at some point

in each of the last three years. The only other ACC school that can say that is Clemson

and there really isn't anyone else that's anywhere close. The ACC desperately needs a power

that can consistently compete with Clemson. Florida State was there last year

but can Florida State keep it up? No one really knows. Is Miami ever gonna come back

No one knows, but if Utah can come to the ACC, then there is that other consistent power

I think without a doubt when it comes to football. Basketball wise, Utah is not great

And while Utah would probably get destroyed in men's lacrosse, it would be a sixth team
