ACC Media Days Highlights

Orange Viz Nation Alex Burstein here with you. It's August, which means this

month we're going to have college football. And last week Syracuse took on

the ACC media days. And today we'll be going over some top takeaways from what

was said from Syracuse players and head coach Fran Brown. We'll start with

Laquan Allen, the returning running back who was a star for S. U. Last year

and he talked about just being very determined to get back out on the field

and how this season he's gonna be running angry with the football. Not in

a bad way, just about how determined he is to get back on the field and eat up

some yards this year, as Syracuse has improved all around the skill positions

for this upcoming season. We'll move on to Justin Barron, who was obviously a

leader last year, but he said last season he was mainly a leader by

example. So when Fran Brown came into the program, convinced Justin Barron to

stay for another year, Brown challenged him to be a leader not only by example

but being a vocal leader for this upcoming season. And Barron says he's taken on that role. It's been an adjustment for him, but be interesting

to see how Barron changes both on and off the field this season. Next up, we

have the defensive lineman transfer Fidel Diggs from Texas A and M. And the

big thing with digs was he was just very comfortable being in this new program

And obviously he came along with the new defensive coordinator from Syracuse

for Syracuse, Elijah Robinson, who made the move from Texas A and M to

Syracuse. That was a big help. But he also talked about how well he knows

Fran Brown because Brown was one of his first offers when he was a freshman in

high school. Brown offered him when Fran Brown was with Temple, so he knows

these coaches very well and is ready to be a leader with this Syracuse squad as

he takes on his final year of college football. And then the final player that

spoke was Kyle McCourt. He had one of the longest sessions, and he said he

feels like he's in a very similar offense this year. He really likes his

weapons surrounded. He was talking about how he feels prepared learning two years

under C. J. Stroud at Ohio State and just very exciting words from a cord

And then finally, there was Fran Brown. My favorite quote from him was I just

want to win. He was very locked in at the media days and just talked about

bringing together a family this year should be a fun year for S. U. Football
